About Accreditation

Did you know that a school DOES NOT have to be accredited to be a real school?

That's right!

A school does not have to be accredited by any accrediting agency to be a legitimate school or to be legally registered with the Department of Education.

So what does it mean when a school is accredited?

It means the school has met the accrediting agency's set of standards, which is required to have their accreditation. The purpose of accreditation is to have a set of standards for schools to go by and maintain to reach educational excellence. This means that schools who are accredited have met that accrediting agency's "set of standards" for excellence. Schools that are accredited are more well-known, thus are more accepted by colleges, universities, and employers.
